Though I went to class yesterday, fuck it. Though it was a downpour yesterday, fuck it. Though none of my boys showed up, fuck it. Yesterday was all about me, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
If you DIDN'T know... yesterday (Sept. 3, 2008) marked THE JONES EXPERIENCE coming to St. Louis. And to be honest, it's refreshing. I haven't seen Nas in concert in over a year, and nothing remotely close to what these people do for music has graced our city since he was here last year. Came through looking fresh from my scalp to my ankles, and couldn't help but to piss and find my seat next to the stage with my bottle of water in hand.
I got there about a hour or so early, and was just lampin' to the various songs they played pre-show. Janet Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest?, Jay-Z, Billie Holiday, Pharcyde, The ROOTS, Common, Dwele, J. Dilla, and the like. The vibe was REAL smooth. My boys were SUPPOSED to come through and relax on this joyous ocassion, but of course they were no-shows once again. I can't complain, they always ruin shit anyway. And truthfully, I think I'm better in the environment I was in with the conversation I had with the people around me.
The concert enlisted 4 main people; Jay Electronica, Talib Kweli, DJ Green Lantern, & Nas. If you're not up on any one of those 4 people, search & download ASAP. It was mad late last night so I decided to upload what comes to follow this morning. With a shitty camera, my adrenaline pumping, and lack of video editing software I recorded these. There are 7 clips in total, but I'll post three from the main segments of the concert.

The quality is good if you're up close, but if you zoom in (i.e. the musician pictures/videos from the concert) get worse and worse the further you zoom in.
But it's either get closer as far as zoom and see the person and get shitty quality, or zoom out 50 fucking miles away seemingly and have great quality.
Either way, it's fail.
