Underwhelmed

Barely got any sleep last night, figuring I did take a long... semi-medium sized nap in the afternoon of Thursday. Spent most of my night listening to some podcasts, doing cardio, and debating whether or not to go to my class today at 9 AM (I chose not to).

Two things I found last night on the base of circumstance.

1. I highly dislike fanboys/fangirls/groupies.
2. Charles Hamilton's newest mixtape offering is reallyx5 good.

I did download Drake's newest around 11 AM today. Listened to it the whole way through as I went to my business meeting for work. I disliked it. There are several reasons which I wrench my face in disgust as I go through this mixtape, but I won't get into that... yes I will. It's personal preference. With 17 tracks on the album, he leaked 7 of them before he dropped the album. That is mistake number 1. Of the 17 tracks on the album, 7 are of him singing. This is mistake number 2. He promised this mixtape to drop on Feb. 12th numerous times, but left the "starving fans" in the dust until Feb 13th. This is mistake number 3.

Don't get me wrong, maybe people are looking for the R&B side of Drake. Well no maybes here, I'm not looking for another R&B crooner. I was not one of those "starving fans", but I do not appreciate when people catch Joe Buddenitis and promise release dates when they can't keep up with them. Otherwise, I liked when Drake had something of substance to talk about on every track he released. Now it's just songs for the bitches. Take it as you will; I dislike it. There are some joints on there in the realm of the lyrical Drake, but those are few & far between on this album. I have no problem with deviating from the norm, but the kid took it too far with the auto-tune KanYe West copycat tattle tale shit. Get back to some Come Winter shit, or gtfo.

Notable tracks are Nov. 18th, Successful, Say What's Real, & The Calm. Everything else is for lack of a better word, different. Like I said, some of the tracks you've heard... 7 to be precise. So when Sooner Than Later, Brand New, & Little Bit come up on the track list it was disappointing. Especially when some of these songs are a year + old. So... if you like Drake for more than what his adoring groupie whores do, the tape will leave you wondering what the fuck happened & got lost in translation. Kinda like it did me.

Different isn't bad, but it is in this context.

In all, that was my day. I do suggest downloading Charles Hamilton's newest mixtape entitled "Well Isn't This Awkward?". It parodies Valentine's Day of sorts, but is very very mellow. I enjoyed it alot. I also encourage you to download and try out Drake's "So Far Gone" joint. You know my opinion of it from earlier statements. Just google either, or go to charleshamilton.blogspot.com & octobersveryown.blogspot.com for the artist's respective mixtape.

Have a great rest of your day. And no supersitious shit please, it's just immature at this point now. I don't play that pussy shit, pussy.

Oh, and I chopped my hair off.
