Weekend Love

Fucked up weekend at best. Really tiring and trying. Especially with the most recent events. But, come step inside my mind for a while, I'll recount.

Friday was cool, kinda forgot to wake up on schedule. Got a shower in & dressed up in a button-down, some slacks, and went up to this business complex for an application. Drug my brother along with me, phase one of disaster. It wasn't THAT bad, gave him some tips. Life lessons if you will. So we got there around 9:45 AM, stood in a line in the sun, in the 85 degree weather + humidity for a hour and a half. Finally got to the actual application process, with a quick interview stint. Walked out relieved. I'm not good with interviews. I know my positives and negatives, but I never know how to fully represent them to the company prior to hire. Ehhhh, maybe that's why I've been avoiding getting a new stable job.

Fast forward to today. My brother got a letter in the mail from the company, it read "We appreciate you applying for the position, but have to reject your application (unfortunately)." I don't know if that means I got the job, or if my letter is late in the mail. I'm bidding on the latter.

Saturday, yard work all day. 110 degrees with the humidity kicking in. It was really a bitch. I was blacking out, pretty horrible times. Parents bought a new tree. Sigh, yet another for me to plant. Otherwise, just a normal day, couldn't get things off my mind. A downer of sorts.

Sunday, church. That's basic. Have really been thinking about getting that tattoo on my left forearm. Romans 12:2. "And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (NKJV). Fitting for every situation, really hits home as of the past 6 months or so. Even dating further back. When I got back to the house, decided to find a new route to pursue to take things off my mind. So, being the nerd I am, I went and bought a game. BioShock to be exact. And I must say, it's an amazing game. Heavily influenced on the story aspect.

Quick run-down. Set in the 1960s, dude named Andrew Ryan decides to build a city (type utopia) under the water in the Atlantic Ocean. Things go wrong, in more way than one. You play the protagonist, and in the opening scene you're on a plane and it crashes over the lighthouse to the city (Rapture). So, you're basically guided through the city, which is on the brink of destruction at this point, by a guy named Atlas. And you're sent to stop the corruption of Andrew Ryan. And other events unfold along the way.

Fast-forward to today. I finished the game. Yeah, about 5 hours ago. Though I am completely enthralled with the story and how it all went down, I found it too short. Maybe I just play through things too quickly... naw. That can't be it, I have 840/1100 in achievements.

=|

But I love how they told the story through these "audio-diaries". You basically find them and listen to what the specific person had to say about the past of the city. They aren't in order, so it's meant to be pieced together yourself, and there are some gaps. So your imagination comes in handy in some places. I recommend the game to anyone who has a 360. It's only $40 at Target. ANYWAY. Though it did keep my mind off of current situations for 2 days, it is not near long enough. Let's hope Ninja Gaiden II (which comes out next Tuesday) will be able to keep me occupied.

=/

Later on Sunday! The day I've been waiting for, for a WHILE. JUNE 1st, the beginning of the reconstruction of paradise as we know it. The life-blood of everything hilarious and wonderful in the world. The premier of the 3rd season of the best show on television.

You guessed it. (or not)

And I must say, the episode was completely legendary. Full of ball-stomping midgets, colleges being bombed, the use of the word "crucible", references to dwarf-suicide, Joseph and His Technicolor Robe of Doom, and Henchmen 21 & 24. All which pan out to be a great, great, unforgettable episode. If the season continues the way it started, it's safe to say. It shall be of epic proportions. Pure bliss.

And that's my weekend. Sorry I haven't called. Awkward conversations aren't my thing, and I don't know if I truly have anything to say past hello. I do miss you, if that's any consolation. Hope you're well. And if you do need/want to talk, I'm here. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right as I read it back.

Oh, and if you look to the right, under my "Properly Linked" section... I'll be adding a few more CHOICE websites you guys should definitely check out. I promise you'll like them if you just give them a try.

Thanks for catching up, I bid you farewell.

Adieu.
